Support Kinship

Our current fundraising campaign aims to raise $25,000 for our most ambitious programming ever. As a primarily volunteer-run organization, your donations directly power our programming, which is offered completely free of charge to students. 

Each year, we support approximately 45 mentees through:

  • Year-round climbing instruction

  • An annual climbing gym membership

  • Personal mentorship and community-building

  • A multi-day guided winter adventure in the Adirondacks (new this year!)

  • Guided outdoor climbing, camping, and hiking trips in the Shawangunk Mountains and beyond 

  • Gear for climbing, camping, and hiking, through partnerships with outdoor companies

Since launching in 2017, Kinship remains a unique space in a climbing and outdoors world that does not often facilitate access and equity. With a new cohort of high school students every year and dozens of alumni in college and beyond (and some who have returned as Kinship mentors!), our community has built a unique space of peer and mentor support. From day one, supporters like you have made this possible.  

We are a nonprofit program under fiscal sponsorship of Catrock Ventures, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your donations are tax-deductible and help cover our core costs:

  • A $50 donation supports one student to join a guided spring/fall hike outside of NYC 

  • A $150 donation supports one student to join a daylong guided climbing in the Shawangunk Mountains

  • A donation of $400 supports one student to join our3-day guided climbing and camping trip

  • A donation of $600 supports one student to join our a 4-day winter cabin and hiking trip in the Adirondacks
